Temporary Vehicle Restraint System (TVRS) Installer Team Leader

Highway Care is a leading supplier and installer of specialist highway and security vehicle restraint systems. As part of our expansion, we are recruiting for an experienced TVRS installer team leader, with potential for career development.

Whilst the working shifts are predominately night time, some occasional day and weekend working will be required to suit the needs of the business. With crews primarily being dispatched from our Upton Upon Severn Depot in Worcestershire, the roll will require flexibility with working locations and shifts.

Candidates must be willing to lodge out of town with accommodation and subsistence provided when required.

Permanent, full-time

50-hour working week, plus overtime when required

Salary: £15.03-£15.42 per hour (Rate dependent on applicant’s qualifications)

Key Responsibilities

Working individually or as part of a team, your role will be to support the Highway Care operation to install temporary vehicle restraint systems on the UK road network.

You will join a team of passionate innovators who think outside the box to achieve the very best for their customers.

Leading by example for colleagues in the team, as the team leader you will ensure the crew is delivering to the method statement provided for each works.

Based in the south west of the country, the important role you will deliver is to protect road users and road workers alike with our BG800 barrier and associated crash cushions.

This role will require excellent time keeping, high levels of delivery and customer service as well as delivering the following activities:

  • Barrier installation and uplift
  • Crash cushion and end terminal installation
  • Driving duties
  • Equipment operation including supporting our innovative techniques
  • Yard duties, ensuring you help to maintain a clean and tidy space to reduce risk.

Essential Skills, Competencies, Qualifications and Behaviours

  • Full and clean driving licence
  • Shift pattern flexibility, including time of day, day of the week and location
  • Experienced in construction site work
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Positive ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Good health and safety awareness
  • Customer liaison skills

Non-essential but preferred (training can be provided)

  • Lorry Loader/crane operator’s licence
  • Slinger / banksman
  • HGV Class 1 or 2
  • CSCS Card
