Highway Care, the specialist in safety and protection systems for road maintenance and events, has appointed Hayley Terrell as the company’s head of communications and marketing.
Joining Highway Care from Balfour Beatty, where she was most recently interim head of communications for the M25, Hayley brings both marketing expertise and varied experience of the employee engagement to her new role. Formerly employee communications manager at Balfour Beatty and previously responsible for Balfour Beatty’s project communications and community relations at Hinkley Point C, Hayley combines technical understanding with a clear emphasis on the people-focused goals of the Highway Care business.
Hayley explains: “I have always been driven by supporting people, communications has offered me an opportunity to do this, whether building a great place to work for our people, developing opportunities for communities to thrive, or providing the best customer service for clients. Highway Care has huge growth potential with a mission to keep people safer through innovation. My new role will be all about maximising the talent within the business to both realise commercial opportunities and set Highway Care apart as a thought leader in the Highways industry, supporting the people who improve the roads and those who use them.
“Moving from a huge organisation to a smaller company means I can play a key role in continuous improvement to help drive business growth. Highway Care is dedicated to innovating to save lives, and I’m looking forward to helping the business communicate the value and positive impact it is delivering across all stakeholder groups.”
The innovative machines have been supplied to Balfour Beatty to aid safety best practice during road maintenance projects. Her new role will involve developing and implementing the marketing strategy for Highway Care, leveraging opportunities to use previous successes as catalysts for further innovation, attract and retain talented people, and make a difference to those maintaining and using the UK’s road networks.
Highway Care’s business development director, Ben Duncker adds: “Hayley is a creative, engaging, and strategic marketing professional who understands our business, our sector and our ambitions. She will be a significant asset to the team as we continue to grow, and this appointment is a key milestone for the business.”
