At Highway Care, we’re committed to supporting the communities we work within. This year, as part of our Social Value strategy, we have introduced a new initiative that allows each team member to spend a paid working day volunteering at local projects or charities. Whether it’s helping at a local food bank, participating in environmental conservation efforts, or assisting at a community centre – our goal is to make a positive impact within the areas that we operate.
During National Volunteers Week this year, our Head of Communications and Marketing, Hayley Terrell, joined by colleagues from the Balfour Beatty and other members of the supply chain on the M25 J10 project, spent time volunteering at the Guildford Action Employment Morning. The session focused on providing essential support such as CV writing, careers advice and mock interviews, and was designed to empower individuals with the skills and confidence needed to secure employment.
These efforts are part of a broader mission by Guildford Action, a charity whose aim is to offer support and stability to vulnerable community members, including individuals experiencing homelessness, those on low incomes, and isolated families.
We are proud that we are able to empower our team to dedicate a day to giving back to the community and making a meaningful impact. Stay tuned for more updates on our volunteering activities!
