In our sector, people are everything.

From those on site to those behind the scenes, the work we do relies on skill, experience and commitment. Yet across construction and the wider built environment, the pressures people face are real and well documented. Long hours, demanding environments and the weight of responsibility can all take their toll.

That is why we have made a clear commitment through our WeCare campaign. It is a simple idea with real intent – we care about our people. Not just in words, but in the actions we take to support them.

As part of that commitment, we are proud to become official Company Supporters of the Lighthouse Charity.

Why the Lighthouse Charity

The Lighthouse Charity is the only charity dedicated to the emotional, physical and financial wellbeing of construction workers and their families across the UK and Ireland.

They have been supporting the industry for decades, building a reputation that is both trusted and respected. Crucially, their work is rooted in a deep understanding of the sector. They know the realities of site life, the pressures individuals face, and the barriers that can prevent people from asking for help.

That sector focus matters. It means support is relevant, practical and accessible when it is needed most.

A natural fit with our WeCare campaign

Our WeCare campaign highlights our commitment to enhancing safety, trusted partnerships and supporting the people who make it all possible.

Supporting the Lighthouse Charity strengthens that ambition. It gives us access to proven tools, training and resources that help us move from intention to action.

It also sends a clear message to our teams, partners and clients. Wellbeing is not an afterthought; it’s part of how we operate.

What this means for our people

Becoming a Company Supporter is not just about backing a charity. It is about bringing meaningful support into our business.

Through this partnership, our teams will benefit from:

  • Mental health training and development
We will have access to MHFA England approved training, helping us build internal capability and ensure we have people across the business who can recognise when support is needed and respond appropriately.
  • The Lighthouse Wellbeing Academy
Our people can access a wide range of online modules and scheduled sessions, covering key areas such as mental health, financial wellbeing and resilience.
  • Practical resources and awareness materials
From site posters to helpline cards, we can actively promote the support available and make it visible across our workplaces.
  • Lunch and learn sessions
Dedicated sessions will help open conversations around wellbeing, breaking down stigma and encouraging people to seek support early.
  • On site engagement through ‘Make It Visible’ visits
These visits bring support directly to site teams, providing face to face engagement and ensuring no one is overlooked.
  • Critical incident support
In the event of a serious incident, immediate professional support will be available to help individuals and teams navigate difficult situations.

Supporting those who need it most

Beyond what it brings into our own business, this partnership allows us to support the wider industry.

The Lighthouse Charity provides a 24-hour helpline, emotional support, financial assistance and guidance to those in crisis. For many individuals and families, this support is life changing.

By becoming a Company Supporter, we are contributing to that work. We are helping ensure that support remains available to anyone in our industry who needs it.

 Building Social Value that matters

Social Value is often talked about, but it is most meaningful when it is connected to real impact.

Our partnership with the Lighthouse Charity is a practical example of that. It aligns directly with our sector, supports our people and contributes to a stronger, more resilient industry.

It is not a one-off initiative, it’s part of an ongoing commitment to do the right thing by the people who make our work possible.

Looking ahead

We will be actively promoting the Lighthouse Charity and the support they offer across our business and networks.
