We have reached an important milestone in our continued commitment to occupational health and safety, gaining a RoSPA Gold Medal in recognition of our sixth consecutive Gold Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

The RoSPA Gold Award is a prestigious accolade awarded annually to those organisations that demonstrate consistently high standards of occupational health and safety across their operations. The Gold Medal recognises businesses like Highway Care who have delivered SHEQ excellence consistently for more than five years and demonstrated a positive safety culture and focus.

With the motto ‘accidents don’t have to happen’, RoSPA has been helping to make the world safer for 70 years, and the society’s values are very aligned to our own here at Highway Care. The organisation is a leading voice in health and safety, campaigning to reduce avoidable accidents, including accidents on the road and at work, just like us, and lobbying government on health and safety matters.

As a company dedicated to delivering innovative solutions for a safer future, we always make safety a high priority at Highway Care, and our RoSPA Gold Medal is an important indicator of our dedication to health and safety, which will continue to motivate our team to strive for excellence. It sits alongside our FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) Bronze accreditation, which confirms that we are also meeting high standards of vehicle and driver safety as an integral part of our operations.

Highway Care’s SHEQ Manager Craig Jones commented: “You would expect a company that is dedicated to road safety and road worker safety to embed health and safety best practice into our operations, but our consistent SHEQ performance is about more than policies and a corporate commitment.

Maintaining our health and safety achievements takes a team effort and a safety culture across everything we do, whether we’re in the office, the depot, or on site. I am really proud of this achievement and would like to thank every member of the team for being part of securing our RoSPA Gold Medal.”
